Bugs, Errors, and Exceptions

Adopt from

Learning C# 3.0 Published by O’REILLY written by Jesse Liberty & Brian MacDonald

A bug is a programmer mistake that should be fixed before the code is madde available to users.

An excpetion is usually not the result of a programmer mistake (though such mistakes can also raise exceptions). They are raised as a result of problems that you can predict, but can’t prevent, because they depend on factors outside your program.

An error is caused by user action. An error might cause an exception, but you can prevent that by implementing code to validate user input. Whenever possible, programmer should write code to prevent error, instead of relying on exception.

iPhone 4: Gyroscope

Adopt from

iPhone 4 has a Gyroscope. What is a gyroscope?

A gyroscope is a device for measuring or maintaining orientation, based on the principles of conservation of angular momentum.

A gyroscope flywheel will roll or resist about the output axis depending upon whether the output gimbals are of a free- or fixed- configuration.

Interesting.

Mouse Tricks

If you right-click on a Taskbar icon, it brings up the much talked about Jump List. However, the same can be done by clicking with the left mouse button and dragging the icon “out” (so to speak). This was specifically designed for touch-enabled computers, such as your lovely HP TouchSmart PC.

middle-click: open a second instance of the same application

shift + right-click: open a menu with maximize, minimize or restore
